Max Brooks - Zombie Survival Guide

Here's an excerpt from the popular audio book. This is a great book that in theory, teaches you how to deal with an outbreak in zombies. This is all serious and as scientific as possible. This entry talks about decomposition and a little about the human body. Knowing this, just might save your life.

Prize Fighter Inferno - Run, Gunner Recall, Run! The Town Wants You Dead

Alright. Been awhile. Christmas shit and all. Still no excuse. How hard is it to upload one song a day really? I don't think anyone actually looks at this journal. If you actually check in on this journal once in awhile, drop me a line. Hopefully that'll motivate me to post more knowing actually someone has interest. Also feel free to add suggestions, I could always use them.

Anyways, I've been feeling a lot of Coheed and Cambria as of late, so here comes a great track from his side project called Prize Fighter Inferno. The project expands on his story by talking about the Blood Machine that was invented which by so happens to be the name of the album (My Brothers Blood Machine). It's really not all that different from Coheed, just a little different in style, some electronic tossed in and just Claudio doing everything. This is track 7.

KMFDM - Looking for Strange

Amazing band with so many years under them, they just keep getting better and evolving. This track is number two from their latest release "Tohuvabohu". Industrial/Electro Rock music at it's best.

Bill Hicks - Please Do Not Disturb (Dangerous)

This track is from the late great and hilarious Bill Hicks. I don't agree with everything he has to say, but he's got balls and is on point with a lot of things. This is a track from his cd called Dangerous. In this bit, he talks about the War on Drugs, dropping acid with some friends (and getting pulled over), how drugs are looked at negatively in the media, what to watch out when it comes to cigarettes and the health nut, Jim Fixx.

P.S. You might recognize some of this bit being sampled into a Tool song.

Rodrigo Y Gabriela - Orion (Metallica Cover)

As promised, some more beautiful acoustic guitar by this duo. This time however is an amazing cover of Metallica's Orion from their Master of Puppets album. This song and the previous one I had posted are both from this groups latest album which is self titled. I would say any metal fan is going to appreciate this version, but that's a bit narrow minded. Anyone with ears and a fucking clue is going to love this tune. PERIOD.

Rodrigo Y Gabriela - Juan Loco

Yes yes yes! I know. I suck. Haven't updated in a couple days. Anyways. I make it up with some Rodrigo Y Gabriela. If you're not aware of who these two guitar virtuoso's are. They originally hail from Mexico City, but moved to Ireland where they've performed beautiful flamenco pieces as a duo. Funny thing as they originally were in a trash band together before. They are heavily influenced by metal which shows as they have done several covers (one which I will be putting up right after this one). The music is utterly awe inspiring. You should definitely check out a video of theirs on youtube or catch a show if you can, it really seems magical. If you enjoy beautiful spanish guitar with a bit of a twist, you have to hear it. By the way, this is an original composition of theirs. Enjoy.

Pain for Pleasure - WW7 Parts 1 & 2

Pain for Pleasure is the alter-ego metal band of pop punk band Sum 41. Their sound is that of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. They only were featured a couple times with a few tracks under their belt, this is just one of them. Unfortunately they are no more I guess since the guitarist left Sum 41 and ultimately Pain for Pleasure. Saddens me because I personally love this side project and we won't see anymore from them considering one of the main influences left. Also he was pretty good in Sum 41 which I believe has somewhat twisted their musical direction (you can hear the progression slowly through their catalogue, but I believe if you compare their new album to their previous ones, they are simply missing out on some of the heaviness that this member brought). Anyways, enjoy the track.

Matisyahu - Beat Box

Some fun beat boxing by a great artist from his Live at Stubbs album. If you don't know much about this performer, check him out, especially if you're a fan of Sublime and the such.
